I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 2017 with degrees in Public Relations and Retail Merchandising. Social media, fashion, beauty, graphic design, and blogging are my jam.
BACKGROUND + EXPERIENCE
Believe it or not, I actually applied to college as a biology major. Like most 18-year-olds, I had no idea what I wanted to do. It didn’t take me long to discover the textiles and apparel department, and since I grew up with a love for fashion, switching my major was a no-brainer. Mid-way through my freshman year, I figured out that I would either graduate early, or have to pick up a second major if I wanted to take the full four years. I’ve always been hungry to learn everything I can, so choosing a second major was an obvious choice for me. Plus, where’s the fun in graduating early? After working at ID.CREATIVE, a local PR firm, I fell in love with social media and became fascinated with ever-changing ways that brands and people communicate with each other. It was this same summer that I started my blog, Vital Blonde, which, at the time, had another name. This was in 2014 when blogging was in the beginning of its growth,
and “influencer” wasn’t a commonly-used word. While blogging remains a hobby for me, I found joy in working in influencer marketing on the brand side of things while at Kelly Wynne and Rebecca Minkoff. After graduating, I briefly worked for pharma-giant Allergan before finding my way to Main Street Hub, which was acquired by GoDaddy in my time there. I’ve always had a creative side, but it was here that I learned my strong passion for graphic design and creating digital art. After this, I moved to Dallas and began working for Hilton on the social media team as the Hilton Suggests Travel Blog Editor, where I fine-tuned my copywriting and editing skills in this role. Since the pandemic, I have moved into a contract role at Sam’s Club where I manage influencer partnerships, community management, and social content creation. While all these passions may be a bit of a motley crew, they’re all a part of what makes me, me.
